Operations / Showroom Manager

With the forthcoming retirement of a key member of our team who has been part of our work family for the best part of a decade, we are hoping to find a special person to replace them.

 

The role is essentially that of an Operations Manager for our very busy kitchen studio. We are based in the Hersham Centre opposite Waitrose,  and work with retail and developer clients across the South East. Our customer base is approximately 50% developer and 50% retail.

 

The role includes, but may not necessary be limited to, the following areas:

 

  • Placing orders for each kitchen (except the furniture which is ordered by the designer)

  • Arranging incoming deliveries to our warehousing partner

  • Arranging outgoing deliveries from our warehouse to site

  • Co-ordinating the installation of kitchens with our installers diaries

  • Ordering any remedial items and arranging the delivery/installation thereof

  • Admin support inc answering the phone, weekly mailshot of planning approvals, checking levels of, and ordering office supplies when necessary

  • Being in the showroom to open at 9am until close at 5pm to enable the directors to be out and about seeing clients and measuring sites

A bonus but not role critical skill is the ability to assist with CAD design as and where necessary (using Compusoft Winner). Or the willingness to learn this element in the future.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised individual maybe already working in the kitchen industry but prefers to organise rather than be customer facing or have any sales pressure.

​

You will need to have experience using basic functionality of Microsoft Excel/Powerpoint/Outlook and you will need to be able to think on your feet and work under your own initiative. When you discover a supplier will deliver something late, you will need to evaluate all the implications, decide what to do and in what order.

 

You will be working alongside our current Operations Manager for a period of time to ensure you are trained sufficiently and comfortable in the role.

 

The position is Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and is an office based position in our showroom in Hersham, Surrey. We are a small team of four people (including you) looking for someone who is keen to be a pivotal member in a well respected, long established kitchen business.
