Maurice Moore
1932 - 2022
Moore By Design Ltd was established in 1998 by David Moore, although we have our roots in the kitchen industry spanning back to the 1950s, when David's late father Maurice Moore began distributing kitchen appliances throughout the UK to major house builders. His company, ABK, rapidly became the market leader in its field, with warehouses throughout the UK.

We now operate from our showroom in Hersham, Surrey. In 2002, David’s wife joined the business and now looks after the accounts. Fellow Director Mark Butler joined the business in 2014, bringing with him a wealth of experience with over twenty five years in the industry, most of which running his own successful business. In 2016, the team were joined by Ann Battensby who brought over ten years experience of managing kitchen projects from positions in central London and Esher, and now ensures goods are where they need to be, when they need to be there. Between the four of us, we have over ninety years experience and we are all still passionate about and thrive on what we do. ​
A crucial point to note is that the designer you commence the process with, David or Mark, will remain your point of contact from the very beginning until final completion, giving you a continuous relationship throughout your project, and ensuring every single detail is delivered
As our name implies, we offer a full bespoke kitchen design, supply and installation service for the discerning client. We focus on the design of your kitchen and the detail to ensure a smooth installation. Kitchens are no longer a place just to store and prepare food – they are now the hub of the home and increasingly are forming part of a larger open plan living area, and thus placing more and more emphasis on the design and the materials used. However, every kitchen is a balance between three crucial factors: the aesthetics, the practicality and the cost. We aim, through listening and talking to you, to arrive at the ideal balance between these factors.
