FAQ's
How much is a kitchen from Moore By Design?
Probably the most frequent of the Frequently Asked Questions, and probably the hardest to answer. In a typical year we will install kitchens anywhere between £25,000 and £125,000. We will ask you for a budget in our initial meeting and subject to the wish list that accompanies this, we will endeavour to propose a solution which ticks all the boxes, including the budget. The best design for a space is never the least expensive - there is always a balance and our role is to find yours. As a very rough indication, 60% of our kitchens are in the £30k to £50k bracket.
Do you charge for your designs?
No. We believe the fair approach is to provide our customers with an initial design and quotation without cost or obligation. This will provide you with an insight in to what we can offer, and what it will cost. However just because we do not charge, this does not mean that there is not a cost to us. Whilst we are happy to provide a number of design alternatives to give you reassurance that you have thoroughly considered all the options, there may come a point in this process that we require a financial committment even before an order is signed off.
After placing my order, who is my point of contact at Moore By Design
We believe strongly in the relationship between client and designer, and as such, your designer will remain your point of contact throughout your kitchen journey with Moore By Design. From intial brief to final completion, they will be on hand to ensure the project and the experience exceeds your expectations. Your designer is also a Director of our business.
What happens if my building project is running behind?
Once your furniture is in production, it cannot be paused, and once it is produced it is shipped and will arrive at our warehousing facility. Although we do not pass on additional storage costs except in extreme circumstances (over four weeks delay), we will request the delivery payment is made on the originally agreed delivery date. We will endeavour to rebook the installation to suit your revised programme. We will liaise closely with your builder to minimise the chances of installation delays occuring.
Can you undertake building work
In a word, yes. If the work is minor such as removing a wall, or building a stud wall, we can accommodate this using our own installers. If the work is more involved such as an extension, then we have a small selection of building contractors that we have worked well with in the past, are happy to recommend, and who share the same high standards as ourselves in delivering projects on time, in budget and with minimal fuss.
Can I arrange my own installation?
Yes......... but why? Our fitters install our furniture day in and day out, and most of them have done so for over twenty years. Our installation costs are very competitive so there is little to gain but plenty to lose if your own fitters are not familiar with premium kitchens. But if you have a fitter you trust then we are very to happy operate on a supply only basis.
How long does it take to install a Moore By Design kitchen
If a project doesn't require any preliminary work, a typical installation will take between one and two weeks for the main installation, with worktops templated at the end of this period. Turnaround from worktop template to installation is one week. So in total you should allow a minimum of at least two or three weeks for a simple, small project. Some projects will involve further materials requiring templating which cannot be carried until worktops are installed, such as glass or mirrors. This can prolong the installation further but in most the cases the kitchen can be used if necessary.
Can you refresh or replace the doors on my existing kitchen
No this is not something we offer, nor advise. The doors are the dearest component of a kitchen cabinet so replacing doors is still an expensive option. By the time you include any appliances, labour and/or worktop, you could end up spending a similar amount as a new kitchen, but with the same old layout and old carcasses.
