Moore By Design

The Moore family has it roots in the kitchen industry spanning back to the 1950s, when current Moore By Design Director Maurice Moore began distributing kitchen appliances throughout the UK to major housebuilders. His company, ABK, rapidly became the market leader in its field.

Moore By Design Ltd was founded by Maurice’s son David in 1997 and we now operate from showrooms in Walton on Thames and Leatherhead. We offer a full kitchen design, supply and installation service for the discerning client.

We operate on an exclusive basis with our German partner, Beckermann Kuechens. Beckermann offer an unrivalled range of classic and contemporary kitchens which are manufactured to order in their factory in Cappeln, Northern Germany. Beckermann are possibly the most flexible German manufacturer there is; we can offer over 300 laminate colours, over 20 solid or veneer woods and any lacquer colour you require either high gloss or matt. Although German kitchens have a reputation of being rather costly, we deal directly with the factory in Germany—there is no expensive sales office or showroom in the UK to maintain, which is reflected in their prices.

As our name implies, we focus on the design of your kitchen. Kitchens are no longer a place to store and prepare food - they are now the hub of the home and increasingly are forming part of a larger open plan living area, and thus placing more and more emphasis on the design and the materials used. However, every kitchen is a balance between three crucial factors: the design, the practicality and the cost. We aim, through talking and listening to you, to arrive at the ideal balance between these factors.
